The 2011 Ford Explorer makes a huge leap forward, the transition from old school to modern head-frame SUVs, cars like crossover. I found a willing partner for life in the suburbs, with the best mechanism to stow a row of 3 I could have imagined, and decent fuel economy (almost 20mpg noted, EPA rated 17/23). The frame is rock solid, high-speed feels almost like in some European luxury performance utes I recently tried together. The 283HP 3.5L V6 and makes252 lb.-ft. torque is, however, by a 6-speed "shift select" transmission that offers manual shift function disabled - but only a small switch on the gear knob itself. It 'a good start for Ford, with a couple of small (and easily repairable) disorders. The NAV system, for example, is very large, but also confused. A couple of tweaks here and there would be a really excellent product. Ross Rapoport, Editor, Road Tour and host the video for more pictures and a roadflytv.comDownload sticker.
