The Best Price

You do not get the best price?

Are you sure?

Best Prices

I recently saw an ad that read: "... provide the very best. We Price" What does this mean? What is the best price? You mentally equate "best price" with "lowest price?" This lack of clarity can create customer disappointment and much ill will. Let's see how.

"Best" is a subjective term. It has different meanings for different people.Let's trade in clothing and how each of their customers, probably best to define the word.

If you are a buyer or Saks, Nordstrom, means more than not only the quality of the product very high, but also great atmosphere and exceptional service. The best price for the buyer is one who resists value that reflects - to a much higher price than they would find in other stores.

Macy's buyer, the best means of high quality with high recognition value, butpossible to the atmosphere and extra service from Saks and Nordstrom is not practical to display. The best price in their mind is the one who testifies to the quality of the product logo and brand, but discounts heavily the service and atmosphere aspects of Saks and Nordstrom.

JCPenney buyers feel best reliable quality and reasonable fashion to clothing. You do not have the higher the quality, environment and service to Macy's, Nordstrom and Saks viewpretentious. The best prices for buyers JCPenney is one that is significantly less than Macy's, but also coincides with the best quality and less-known brands such as St. John's Bay.

the target could include the establishment of best quality and reliable good-looking. This does not mean that an additional Tommy Hilfiger, Polo or even a logo Bay St. John to get on the head. The best price for a target buyer is a step down from JCPenney'sPrice. Reflects quality at affordable prices.

Wal-Mart buyers determine the best price at the lowest price. The price is the overriding consideration in their purchasing decision.

With all these definitions of the best, we see how the marketing message at the beginning of this article creates expectations.

A Saks or Nordstrom buyer expects the price of high expectations, which reflect the level of quality, environment and services to them.If the display is determined "best" within the meaning of "lowest price", you lose the sale. The same with the Macy's buyer. For these buyers, the price is that better reflects the value they expect and the high value.

JCPenney and Target shoppers feel the same way it would if the price of clothes they wore to put a Wal-Mart. While you may regard as extravagant Saks, Nordstrom and Macy's prices, it certainly does not believe thatis something bad, what to buy. A feeling they get when something has a price less than what they expect to be hoped that the price you have to for quality.

E 'counter-intuitive, but the language that you convey the marketing message should be clear what value you offer. vague terms such as "best," leaves much room for interpretation. If you can leave a message for the interpretation, the message is interpreted as being different from what is almost certainlyis determined.
